Freight Shipping Information

Large and heavy items, like boat lifts and dock accessories, require special handling and are shipped via third-party freight carriers instead of FedEx or UPS. Here are some things to know:

• Residential Fees: Delivering to a residential address incurs additional fees due to things such as gates and limited access for large trucks.
• Overlength Fees: Long items may have additional overlength fees that increase the shipping cost. These charges are set by the carriers and can be significant.
• Unloading Responsibility: The customer is responsible for unloading freight orders. Some carriers may not have a lift gate. Most deliveries can be handled with two people, but some may require a forklift or other equipment.
• Delivery Coordination: Freight carriers will contact you to arrange delivery, as they don’t provide door-to-door service in the same way small parcel carriers do. In some rare cases, you may need to pick up your shipment from a local terminal.
• Inspect Your Delivery: Before signing for your shipment, be sure to check for any damage or missing items. If there’s an issue, note it on the delivery ticket and let us know right away! If damage is excessive, you can refuse the shipment.
