Properly Measuring Pilings
Properly measuring your wooden piles will help us make sure you receive the right product the first time. Here are some tips for measuring:
- Measure the pile in both directions since piles are often not round
- Pile caps are slightly larger to allow for different sized pilings. A piling that measures 8in x 8.1in should still use an 8in pile cap.
- Measure all the piles. Even though all the piles were probably purchased and installed at the same time, the measurements will probably be off by as much as 1-1/2in.
Piling caps are designed to allow for a little room for error. The caps will fit well even on a slightly irregular piling.
