1HP A.O. Smith 56 Frame Replacement Motor

The 1 HP A.O. Smith 56 Frame Replacement Motor is an AC, single phase, reversible motor made specially for AMS and can be used on the Flat Plate or EBD.

The 1 HP A.O. Smith 56 Frame Replacement Motor, now labeled as Aqua Marine Supply, is a direct replacement for an A.O. Smith boat lift motor. A.O. Smith has one of the most recognizable names in the industry. Known for reliability and longevity, the A.O. Smith boat lift motor has been a great choice for many years. The A.O. Smith’s name was bought by Regal Beloit in 2010 (read the original press release here) and they continue to make the same motor to the same standards.

These replacement motors come with fully enclosed non-vented housing (TENV) which is especially beneficial for keeping mud daubers from building nests in your motor as they notoriously do.

The A.O. Smith Replacement Motor is available in 48 or 56 frames and is the only motor currently made in the 48 frames for the boat lift industry. See the A.O. Smith 48 Frame Replacement Motor page to order the 48 frame. It is only intended for use with the Hefty Hoist PWC Drive and will not work with a 56 frame hoist.

The 56 frame motors come in other horsepower options, including a 1 hp heavy duty motor. The heavy duty motor has 15% more torque than a regular 1 HP motor and is used on the AMS 6500 flat plate.

The A.O. Smith Footed Motor has a 5/8" shaft.

Drive pulleys are sold separately.

The A.O. Smith Replacement Motor will not work on a Direct Drive Mount Hoist.
